Cats around the house

So, what are we doing today? I think I got a case of “cat block”. I have not been testing out new foods or toys on the cats. What to post?  I was looking at recent photographs trying to make some kind of sense out of them, but I really did not; so, I will just put together some common but hopefully interesting scenes of “Cats around the house” occupied by my multiple cats ie. four.

I will say a breakthrough was made with Scooby. He would occasionally get horrible red scabs on his face which were a sign of food allergies. By trial and error I discovered he is allergic to fish in his food! To make things simple, no one gets fish. Scooby will seek out and find the “fish” plate! I said he was allergic.  I did not say he does not like fish. One thing you have to look out for is the small-print ingredients in your cat food. A can marked “Chicken” can have some fish in it, I discovered!

  3. I discovered my cats were allergic to plastic dishes so I got rid of them all and replaced with stainless steel. Also I stopped feeding them anything with fish because of a problem with hyperthyroidism. It is possible, but not easy, to find food with little to no fish content. Best meows.

    1. I got rid of the plastic as well some time back because of cat acne on the chin. This fishless food thing is a pain, and I cannot buy and try new stuff off the net because they do not disclose total ingredients, and only sell cases not small amounts. I Wish someone had a list! I have to take a magnifying glass to the store.Thanks for your comment today.

  6. It can get very confusing to see cats eating together and sleeping next to each other without a problem, just to see them fight over nothing — basically, one jumps up to lay down next to the other and the other one swats at his brother. 🙂

  7. I am glad you figured out what Scooby is allergic to. That is sneaky of companies to add fish to foods like chicken. Very cute photos.

    1. The vet was useless, except to tell me it was an allergy. At the end of ingredients list you may see fish meal or various types of fish oil. This goes for DRY food as well! Thanks for visiting and commenting!

  8. That’s great you discovered the food allergy. It can be tricky finding fish-free foods. We too have stopped feeding fish (though we’re pretty sure Lucy’s skin problem is anxiety and not diet related).
