This Mountain Monday on Nip post shows Mt Rainier earlier this morning taken on my early morning bicycle ride It is going to be a hot one all week nineties F and I don’t have air conditioning. I can look at the glaciers while I sweat! There is some telephoto here as it is 36 miles away as the eagle flies. If it erupts you can probably kiss our furry little asses goodbye! At least I will have a good view! Scooby is getting his nip time early before it gets hot and he sleeps all day! Big day Tuesday!

Thought some people might like to see the view. Funny thing, when it is there to see everyday, you generally don’t hardly bother to look! It is just a normal piece of the landscape. Thanks for your visit and comment Rene.

Not much sleep Monday night with sweat pouring off me. The weather guy said the average number of days over 90 in a year here is three. We used those up already! Less than a third of people have A/C here it is reported. It is not worth the money for just a few days so most of us just “tough” it out! Thanks for your visit and comment Audra.

Wonderful view of the mountain. 90s without air conditioning would be difficult. Hopefully you can cool the house off at night with open windows and it doesn’t get too warn until 2 or 3 in the afternoon. It will be around 100 here, but we have air conditioning!

Thanks for your visit and comment. Actually, it is a cat nip “boomerang”. However, when I toss it, it does not come back!

I am used to this situation and lack of air conditioning. My chest freezer in the garage is full of ice cream. If it gets too bad, I’ll just climb in with it! Thanks for your comment Caren!

Hi Greg, glad to see Scooby is enjoying a little nip before the heat of the day arrives. Wishing you the best with the hot weather, hopefully you and the kitties can find ways to stay cool. ~ Mia

Heat won’t peak until 5 pm. By then I shall have found a mossy rock to hide under! Every year I say I am going to buy a small window air conditioner and stick it in the window of the box bedroom as a refuge from the heat, but I never do! Don’t know what I will be doing next summer so I guess I won’t buy one now. Thanks for your visit and comment Mia.

Good luck with the mossy rock, I hope it does the trick! You’re very welcome, Greg.

Would you believe, if the sky were clear, I could do them everyday?! It is the clouds that make the photos of “the mountain” as it is called here by the locals more interesting. Thanks for your comment Kristine. You have lots of beautiful photos on your blog at:

Yikes, stay cool! My son lives in Olympia and doesn’t have AC either. He does work in a diner where the AC is usually on full blast (It’s a good place to grab a sandwich and an ice cold beer) but at some point, he has to go home. Hope it cools off soon, though I’m not sure you want to go back to the usual rain and cloudy skies?
(The first time I visited WA state, it was in August and it rained ALL the time we were there. We had a dog back then, and I would take the little guy out to do his business. When he saw rain for the umpteenth time, he looked at me like “REALLY? We gotta go out in that?” I really miss him.)

Thanks for your long comment. I always say, if I wanted sunshine, I would move to Arizona! I used to live in England and people would complain about the rain. I didn’t know what they were talking about, because it rains more here! Truth! When it rains I am out in it everyday. It does not bother me at all. The air is clean! When the sun shines, it is glorious here.
