Happy 5th Blogversary

Happy 5th Blogversary to us here on WordPress.  The Feline Cafe blog started in 2009 on Blogger with the same name. Things have changed as far as blog platforms and what is cool are concerned.  I will turn you over to Marigold and she will explain a few things. (There is a reason for using this image!)

This clip art above was used to represent me when I was giving information, and was also used as Greg’s signature at the end of every post! We used to give information about various topics and current events, but wisely we quit and turned this blog into a “photography” blog.  Back in the day Greg thought along with many others that having cool little clip-art things like me above made the blog more successful looking!  He has a folder full of them!  Glad Zeke is the Editor in Chief now!

I love feline cafe

Yes, we heart the Feline Cafe but what do you expect?  Greg decided to get a snazzy new website address for us, paid for with some of our kibble money without consulting us.  He was going to buy felinecafe dot com, but it was taken by someone else in Quebec just one week earlier, he found out after much searching. Boy was he ticked off!  That web address was NEVER used!  Last year someone wanted to sell the domain to us for $3000!  No lie!  Anyway, Greg got the domain felinecafe.net for little more than a cat litter scat dance.  He has been happy with it ever since.

One of Greg’s not brilliant ideas after he bought the domain was this header:

We all howled!  This is supposed to be a CAT blog and not a COFFEE blog!  Where are the cats? You are the only one with a coffee cup walking around dripping it on the floor or on our heads!

No problem he says, and he comes up with this brilliant solution:

Are you satisfied now, he asks?  Well, we had to demote him to photographer and janitor, and Zeke became Editor in Chief and I became the fashion reporter and artistic consultant.  Opie does reporting, and Scooby is the circulation manager.

Greg blew it on getting the domain name; he blew it on the artistic concepts, and frankly his writing sucks, so we don’t let him write too much. He wrote a lot on the old blog on Blogger, and where is that blog now?  DELETED!

Traveling down Memory Lane, here are a few old Blogger headers–those were the days!  What was he thinking?

As you can see, over the years there have been many changes–all I must add to the good!  We are doing better than ever!  In fact, Greg and Christine fell in love with each other writing their cat blogs!  How good is that? Who knows what will happen to you? Thank you readers, and also thank you old loyal followers from the “Blogger” days who hung on until now!  I know who you are! We appreciate you all!  At someone’s insistence I add the last clipart:

    1. Keeping up with all the beautiful blogs and content out there is daunting. I fully backed up the old blog photos and all, and I could bring Blogger blog back from the dead, but there are many sad memories I do not wish to revisit there. Thanks for the follow and your comment today!

    1. I don’t know if it was a “Blogger thing” back in the day, but people always made their own signature blocks to put at the end of their posts. Some still do! This was my best one. The habit carried over with me to here for a while. Actually my little header on top of my sidebar which is where it goes for some odd reason is looking a bit retro now as well!       There would be no blog if it weren’t for you, so the credit should be yours. You were my first fan and friend 9 years ago. I only kept blogging as a pretence to keep in communication with you. It does seem a long time ago, yet sometimes it seems like only yesterday. Where did the time go? We both experienced so much in our lives during that time. I hope we experience a lot more in our lives together! I love you.
