Morning Mountain News / TMI (2)

We haven’t had any kind of Mountain News in a while.  Today is just news and odds and ends–some good: some bad.  Took this photo the other morning as the sky was clear. Much more plus entertaining TMI:

Marigold is still mobile and eating and drinking  and licking everybody but losing weight rapidly.

The Cat Killer is still out there.  13 victims so far.  A six person task force is on the case 24 / 7.  Killer profiled as unsuccessful male, seeking attention, living alone, and of unremarkable appearance–no one seems to notice him. Reward now $41,000 or €35,000 or ₤31,700.  He is staying in the Olympia area about an hours drive away, so we are down from Red Alert to Yellow Alert.

The horrible smoke in the atmosphere was blown away into another direction for a week into someone else’s face, but now and then it becomes hazardous again depending on the day, weather, and wind shifts.  Major wildfires continue to burn in the region.

A few days back Channel 13, Q13 Fox Seattle, lost their internet and had to make signs. Watching the weather was like back in the old days of Black and White almost. I liked it and snapped a photo.

  2. We luvved learnin’ more ’bout you. We had to laff, we like action flicks too. Not so much into sappy or horror. MOL Now, did we miss somethin’? What cat killer? Let us at him. A .38 special will stop that. And, we’re sendin’ lots and lots of hugs and purrayers fur all, ‘specially Marigold. Have you tried Gerber ham baby food? It helped me’s sis Lexi a bit and helped her to eat more when she was bein’ extra picky.

  4. I’ve told the story before and won’t go into the details again, just to say that one of my cats was the victim of a feline rapist and murderer many years ago… had to testify against him in court. Sick b*****d…. I think he got a three-year sentence and I often wonder if he is still on the prowl. And sad to think that we may never again be fire and smoke-free.

  5. congrats on winning the cat coloring book. I’m sad they haven’t caught the killer yet. $41,000 is a substantial reward. Hopefully they will entice someone to find him. glad you’ve gone from red to yellow — that’s an improvement — hope it gets even better soon. Wow, that’s a long list of questions! I noticed that a lot of your answers also served up a side of humor — that’s a great knack. I envy that.

    1. I was a bit tempted to go hiding out in the neighbor-hoods, because that is a lot of money! He must be a loner, because if he had anyone who knew him, they would have squealed by now! Anyway I decided not to go out there. Don’t want to be tackled by bounty hunters.
Long lists can be intimidating and boring to read, so they need spicing up! I see humor everywhere so you have an idea what it would be like to be around me. Thanks for your comments, Mary, as always. PS I found the box that turns the LIKES back on!

  6. Aaaah, it was nice to put a face with the blogger. You are partially how I thought you would look. Silver hair and glasses. The pics are nice. I assuming your daughter took them but since I do not do selfies I have no idea if these were done with a cell phone.

The news of the cat killer is really disturbing. I do not understand why folks continue to let their cats out if they know that a cat killer is on the prowl. Maybe they do not know?

I imagine that the smoke is a health hazard for people with respiratory problems. It is so sad to know how beautiful the northwest is but now there are other things that diminish the pluses of living there.

    1. There are more photos of me on my “about” page–new and very old! One day I decided to come out of hiding and so there I am! The cat killer is BIG news and the reward keeps climbing! Wow! People are angry! I won’t reveal the details due to peoples sensitivities but you would be enraged! Smoke-wise, some days were so bad it was hazardous to ALL people! It was worse than Beijing and Mumbai! Fires and smoke may become the new normal here. Sometimes my daughter takes photos but I also have camera and camera phone self timers so I can take photos of myself from a distance. Requires a short sprint! How they were taken is my secret! Ha ha. Thanks Yvonne for taking the time to make and post your comments.

  8. I don’t think there’s a single part of the West Coast that isn’t affected by fire or smoke this summer. 😦 Out here in Northern CA, I often wake up to the smell of smoke; last week, the weather service recommended that people with respiratory problems and young children stay indoor, but for those of us who work or have projects to finish outdoors, we don’t have much of a choice.

That said, the local TV channel using hand drawn signs on the news was kind of funny! Take care, Greg!

    1. The weather signs were entertaining to say the least. Some days the air was hazardous to EVERYBODY regardless. I was able to stay inside and my 4 yes four old rotary air filters did a good job inside of trapping any smoke that seeped in. Thanks for your comments, Hangaku!

  9. I enjoyed reading your answers, and your pictures. How lovely to be married 34 years. Your substitution for the last question summed up who you are, and I can tell that your fur family feels the same way.
