Staying Cool

The summer weather has finally arrived here in the Pacific Northwest. It is usually short lived so people don’t bother much wasting money on air conditioning. We tough out the hot days with fans and hiding in the shadows. Today Scooby found a direct line with a fan and is having his nap as the fan sweeps back and forth keeping us all alive another day. (Note: a month ago Scooby had a large harmless tumour removed from the base of his tail. The tail hair has not all grown back yet. He is fine. ) NEXT post Saturday 1 August.

      1. I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. 😸

Seriously though, sunshine is fine. But not when it feels like you’re in an oven. That’s probably why we Filipinos like to hang out in malls – because of the free airconditioning. 😛

  1. Scooby is indeed a smart kitty. Here in Fresno, we practically all have air conditioning. We’re having a streak of triple digits at the moment! Fortunately for Foster, he is an indoor only cat. 🐱🐼

  2. Try to stay cool any way you can. Looks like your cats are. Enjoy the warm weather now, the cold weather will be back sooner than you know it and want it.

  4. The cats sometimes hog the fans, much to the human’s annoyance. Glad Scooby is doing ok after his surgery. (It’s only minor surgery if it happens to somebody else.)

  5. Clever Scooby finding the best place too cool down.
Spike has a fear off fans not sure why.
I’m so glad his tail is on the mend.
    Hope your all okay.

  6. No air conditioning here either. On the rare occasions that we get hotter than usual weather we open the front and back door. We are high up so there almost always is a breeze that blows through.
    Stay cool, Scooby.

  7. My son in Olympia laughed at me when I got in my car and ran the AC to cool off, during one day when the high hit 89 humid degrees. With the exception of the Safeway and the one shopping mall in town, there wasn’t a single business with air conditioning. I thought climate change might have an impact on that—a friend in Seattle bought an air conditioner after a stretch of 90+ degree days a couple of years ago—but my son says the place he works at still doesn’t have air conditioning. He says he takes his breaks in the produce cooler in the back.

  8. I was raised on the coast of Oregon and we didn’t have air conditioning. We didn’t need it either.

I’m glad Scooby is okay. He looks might comfortable.

Have a fabulous day and stay cool. 🙂
