Hot and Furry

Hot and Furry are the photo choices for today. It has been very hot, sometimes smokey lately, and with no air conditioning a bit rough inside the house for everyone. No one is motivated but things this-coming week look much better for us. Not motivated to do much of anything since the last post. Well, what have we got today?

  1. You’ve had unbelievable heat and I hope you found relief!! Zeke is cooling off, even if it means a smaller head, hahaha!!

  2. I’m sure Zeke’s gonna appreciate all that fur in a few months! Those poor, hot kitties- dad says they’re all welcome to come hang out here in the NC mountains til it cools down out there. Even on our hottest days it’s still real comfy here. Hope the temps come down soon and the smoke stays away.

  3. That’s a funny photo of Zeke. It’s warm here (80-90) and very smoky. After last year’s fires, we knew the 3 HEPA air filters we had in the house wouldn’t be enough for the next major fire, so we bought 2 larger new models to add to the mix. And our new A/C system has a large HEPA filter. So at least we have air that’s as clean as possible. Hopefully your weather returns to normal and the smoke clears soon.

  4. It has been weirdly hot all over the western US. Sunny sleeps on the bathroom floor, which is fake wood with a concrete underlayment, which surprisingly keeps the room fairly cool. (If you lie on the floor, anyway.) Mom prefers air conditioning, though I try not to use it until the temperature inside rises above 80. I hope you and your cats, especially the long-haired guys, can stay cool through the heat wave. And paws crossed that it cools down soon! I’m getting a summer version of cabin fever, since I hate going out in the heat and smoke.

  5. Aw, my Holly hates the heat too. Right now she’s in Manomet, MA at a cat boarders. The day we went to visit her was 90+ and about 75% humidity. I thought she would be sitting in a miserable pile- but when we got there, she came out and started jumping up on things, purring, playing and visiting the other cats in their cages. Maybe the humidity isn’t as bad to her? Idk. It was also air conditioned pretty well in there. But back in CA, she was miserable despite the AC. Personally, I think dry heat is worse, but I’m having humidity issues here with damp clothes, bedding, carpeting etc. Yuck!

    1. I thought Holly would not like being boarded but it sounds like she is enjoying herself there. A cool down has come today but it won’t last long I suspect. She probably will enjoy the first snow as she has not seen any in CA.
