Scooby 2010 – 2024 Goodbye

Scooby 2010 – 2024. Sunday night late Scooby could not settle and kept roaming around. He was lightly panting on and off. Decided to take him to the vet Monday morning. When I got up he was wandering around upstairs and could hardly walk as his back legs weren’t working for him. He let out some loud horrible screaming sounds. Put him in the car and headed to the animal hospital 20 minutes away. When we got there I checked him before pulling him out of the car. He was gone. Suspect a heart attack. My best cat and friend who spent every day and night by my side is gone. I am crushed. Four days ago we were hunting rabbits. Everyone loved Scooby: he was the best cat I ever knew.My inclination to stop blogging in June was correct. Now I must stop on a sad note. My heart is not in this any more. A few photos follow with captions:

brothers
Brothers two playtimes are over for now
Time to sleep
Time to sleep whenever you want in heaven
There will be a penguin blanket in heaven for you
There will be a penguin blanket in heaven for you
Sunny walks for you in heaven
Sunny catio for you in heaven
A reindeer tent all your own in heaven
Be a little patient and you can sit on my lap in heaven again. Time flies. I will be coming for you I promise

Greg, I am so sorry for your loss of Scooby. He truly was a special cat. I loved how he would wear his winter hat and coat out in the snow. He was a real character. I just know he is happy at Rainbow Bridge with my Jelly Bean and Chelsea there to greet him. Warm wishes always, Retro Dee.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Losing your heart cat is absolutely devastating (I lost mine May 2023). He also happened to be a handsome orange man like your Scooby.

I hope that your memories can bring you some comfort during this awful time. Sending your loving purrs and hugs.

Oh the photos moved me to tears. You lost a fine friend and a wonderful cat.

Scooby looks such a fun friend, and so handsome.

Saying sorry won’t bring him back I know, but those of us who have lost grieve with you and I add my tears to yours.

    Farewell Scooby.

    Dearest Greg,

Read your About, as well as your My Cats first.

Scooby was famous and a cute man cat walking in his leash.

I’ve only had one male kitty that walked with a leash and cat harness, so cute.

It is always hard to lose one of our beloved fur babies as they are so close to us and become true family.

There is no more loyal and loving creature than a beloved pet.

I teared up reading this. I think Scooby was my favorite too, if only because I have a soft spot in my heart for yellow tabbies ( but the other cats are awesome as well). It’s so hard to say goodbye to our furbabies, though I believe in an afterlife and do think our cats keep an eye on us after they have left their physical selves. I hope you can take comfort in all the wonderful photos you took of Scooby. I also hope you will keep us updated on your other kitties. Take care.

scooby, all of us here in trout towne are beyond sorry to learn this. we were honored to call you friend, and always will call you…our friend. dad is right, you will be chasing rabbits and sunbeams, keeping warm in your reindeer tent with your penguin blanket, you can sleep when you want, play as long as you want, eat what you want, and watch over dad and your family, all from the heavens above. we understand how hard this is on dad, and we send him …and you, hugs and loves. 💙💚 dude, boomer, dai$y, tuna, sauce, mackerull and de gurl laura. 💚💙

I am so sorry for your loss. I understand how special he was to you. It’s kind of funny how those of us with multi-cat households have a favorite we bond with. (Even if we don’t tell the other cats.) It hurts a lot when that one passes over the rainbow bridge. Take care of yourself. I’ll miss you. Pets to Opie and Zeke.

I am deeply sorry. More than I can express with that phrase, though it is genuine sorrow for you and Scooby. I now this terrible pain and sadness, so I understand. I am just so sorry that this has happened.

Your loving goodbye to Scooby with each picture brought tears to my eyes. They are deeply loved very very much just like the family they are.

Oh, Greg, I am so sorry. I know the feeling–it’s devastating to lose our four-legged companions, but I truly believe that they’re still with us in spirit and always will be. Know that you have a lot of blogger friends who care about you and hope that you’ll feel like blogging again someday in the future. Rest in peace Scooby.

I am so sorry, Greg, my heart goes out to you and the kitties. Scooby was a very dear little soul, and we feel your pain. Rick and I lost our own Blynken kitty to a heart attack in February of 2022, a large clot had settled into her left ventricle. The vet tried to save her but could not.
