Nicholas goes for a walk

Nicholas goes for a walk. Not exactly what it looks like. He got snatched while sleeping. I carried him around the house for a tour and he was OK with it, but putting him down, he was back to his old “do not get to close” routine. He put up no struggle and did not try to get down. My theory is he was given medicine orally and is afraid he is getting more. Or maybe his tail was treated with something painful. Guess we will never know. I caught him a second time but did not have a good hold of him and he jumped away.

I love it!! He’s starting to get used to you! The pictures are great. Foster isn’t much for being picked up and held, but he’s affectionate in his own way, he likes being near me and purrs when petted. He’ll even tap my hand with his paw if he wants thinks I stopped petting him too soon. 😂 I think Nicholas is coming along great!

Some of us just aren’t “holders”? Me, I freak when mom or dad pick me up. Dad likes to say that when I realize I’m being held I panic like I’m being tortured and twist and wriggle to get down. Dad’s old best buddy Isaac would ride around on dad’s shoulder all day if he could.

Frequent cuddles, maybe with added treats, should help Nicholas adjust to his new safe family & home. It can be difficult when they’re traumatized when they’re young. Molly frequently avoids us when she sees us getting ready to go somewhere. She had so many vet visits in her first 2 years that she’s hyper-alert to the possibility of being taken to the vet.
