Opie at home and the last Nicholas photo.

Louie spends alot of his time in one bedroom under the bed in the daytime, and jumping around playing with toys all night long. He sticks his head out to eat just like Nicholas . Often I calI him Nicholas by mistake. I miss Nicholas a lot. I wondered if Louie knew what a toy was, but he likes them all. I can touch him and he purrs being petted. He is wary of me walking around. He meows and eats whatever he gets. He has a long tail but you can not see it here. Getting a photo of him is like trying to get one of Bigfoot. He has seen Opie. She came into his room and they exchanged slow eye blinks, then she ran downstairs. He did not follow. At night they scratch the door–one on each side. The door is closed at night to avoid him getting into trouble. In the day he does not venture far from the door.

Louie is a sweetheart, but when I see Nicholas my heart just breaks terribly.

My dad says it takes forever to get over losing a kitty, and even though Louie seems to be coming around, Nicolas will always take up a big portion of your heart. Take care, Greg.

It was an emotional roller coaster adopting Louie on the 2nd morning following Nicholas demise, but something urged me on to get one of those abused cats.

Louie’s purrs during petting is encouraging. He’ll be your best friend in no time. Paws crossed a longer introduction to Opie goes smoothly (it should).
The string or shoelace on the floor is making me nervous…. our kitties never have access to string without supervision. 🙂

I pot strings away when I see them.

I think Opie will like him. She is interested. . She is rather big compared to him now.

It is nice to see Louie, but I am sure it must be difficult for him to adapt after the awful start in life. He will though. I hope he can help heal your heart after so sadly losing Nicholas.

He is the same age as Nicholas when I got him and is doing well I think.

I miss reading of Nicholas…it was good to see his little face again. Good to see Louie and Obie. Things will even out a bit as time goes on…but I know you know that.

Nicholas was a lovable little guy full of energy. Trying to erase Louie’s traumatic life with the hoarder and replace it with good things.

It’s hard when cats pass over the Bridge. It takes a while to not expect to see them where they were. Louie is very cute. It sounds like he’s starting to adapt.

I imagine him in his usual places but he is not there. Louie has a fine time with Nicholas’ toys and I forget who he is sometimes. He is feeling more secure but won’t leave his room yet.

They’re both handsome tabbies. It’s hard to break habits

The slow blinks by Opie and Louie are a good omen. Slow and steady is always good. Maybe Nicholas channeled a little bit of spirit to help Louie get adjusted. Purrayers for a happy New Year.
