I ain’t afraid o’ no ghosts! Tail of the ghost cat

I ain’t afraid o’ no ghosts! Glad to hear it Louie. You would make a great ghostbuster if you did not sleep through the visitations. Let me set the scene. I am asleep in bed on the weekend. I have a small light on so I don’t have to fumble around looking for the light switch. Louie is in the cat bed on my bed curled up sound asleep In the night I hear the noise of someone in the litter box down the hallway. I look over at the cat-bed and Louie is curled up fast asleep. Could it be a burglar? The alarm did not go off and I have no valuables buried there. I decide to just go back to sleep reluctantly. I woke up later when I felt paws walking across the bottom of the bed. I looked down and glimpsed a bushy tail waving back and forth. I looked at the cat-bed and Louie was still curled up in it asleep. Looking back and there is nothing there. Thinking about it, the tail looked a lot like Opie’s in both color and movements. Opie passed last May. Her empty cat-bed is still in it’s place on my bed. I wrote this for the believers and not the skeptics. I been visited before over the years. In the photo, Louie is waiting for me to follow him up the stairs.

    I still get visits from Sunny—I think it’s Sunny, though I have seen a grey and white cat in this apartment lurk in the corner of my eye. The previous resident didn’t own a cat, and we know nothing of the resident before her. But some kitty jumps on my bed at night and cuddles against my legs. I also have felt a furry tail brush my legs and flick its tip against me. I have no doubt our pets come back to look in on us. And I think humans do too, though that might be scarier….👻

        I would love to hear about your experiences with human ghosts as well! My aunt’s old house has something living there, as did my old farmhouse in Minnesota. One was scary, the other just annoying.

        One funny thing is that a live cat, white with grey patches on the back and head, similar to the one I see in my apartment, keeps hanging around my patio. It infuriates the neighbors by knocking over their potted plants and digging in their garden beds. It has an owner, but every night it’s sitting on my patio wall. I told it I don’t have a cat here, so if it’s waiting for a playmate or sparring partner, it’s in the wrong place. He (might be a she) just looks at me in that very smug feline way, like, “ha, you think?”

    Greg…NO problem with me!!! I was reading in my chair before bed the other night. It was 1015 at night. Katie would have been pacing and asking for me to go to bed. But she went to Heaven, so I was reading alone and almost ready for bed . I was in a night gown and my legs were dangling down. I felt her brush up against me as always so I lowered my book with a smile ready to pick up my little one and put her in my lap but she wasn’t there. I FELT cool furs brush against my shin! I did! I will swear to that.
