Merry Christmas 2025

Named after St. Nicholas, he lived here 11 months and this would have been his first Christmas in a new home. I miss him a lot. Louisiana took his place for his own first Christmas in a new home.

A Day in the Life (5)

Room Service. Opie top and Nicholas bottom like to spend their afternoons in the big bed in the warmest sunniest room in the house. They expect room service at mealtimes and only go to the kitchen if they are really hungry. I never get tipped.

Another Day in the Life (4). A long time since I used this title. Now it is just Opie and Nicholas around the house. Today we will see the normal routine–4 am antics, playing with things, searching for Nemo and the invisible cat who returns today. In the top left photo you can see the red curtains I had to cut Nicholas out of as he hung by his front paws.

Nicholas is bigger. His tail has gotten bigger in proportion to his body getting bigger. He mostly holds his tail pointing right like he is signaling a turn. He still won’t let me pet him but he hangs out near me. He grabs my leg if I am too slow dishing out dinner, and one day picking up a food dish, he slapped it out of my hand. Opie sometimes lets him eat her food. He is constantly talking and likes to chase balls thrown on the stairs.

Today Opie keeps the bag, and Nicholas finds Nemo!
