U Haul I Hauled

U Haul I hauled. The whole story I am about to share can be found with photos at the link at the bottom of this post:

I have been on an emotional roller coaster, and sorry you had to ride along, but be sure today you are locked in because here we go again!!!

First thank you for all your kind comments on Nicholas. I appreciate them.

In November there was a story on the news about an animal hoarder. A woman with a U Haul truck was checked into a local motel. Guests complained about cats out in a parked U Haul truck. Police and animal control called. Twenty cats were locked in the truck cab wanting out. Checking the back police found cages with filthy, starving cats and corpses. The caged cats were desperate to get out of the cages and the dark,un-ventilated truck. 73 cats total which include 10 dead were found. The woman was arrested on several counts $35,000 bail set. .

Tuesday Dec 9 Nicholas died. Thursday Dec 11 was an adopt-a-thon at the shelter for the rescues. We hauled ourselves over there. You know how U Haul paints various states on the sides of their vehicles? There were so many animals to name they named them after the U.S. states and then cities. We adopted a little guy who needed a break. He weighed 3 pounds at rescue. He is named after a state. Next post will document his arrival at his new home. Was it the right thing to do? It is an emotional ride. Time will tell.

The full story is in the link below but it may not work in some countries.

Nicholas 2023 – 2025

Nicholas 2023 – 2025. His hard-luck little life came to an end today. The odds were stacked against him. He won’t make his 2nd birthday which would be his first ever birthday party he ever had in his own home. Unopened toys sit on the table. Opie is looking for him. I cannot write any more about it.

Nicholas Bananas

Nicholas bananas. Nicholas has gathered some bananas together-some riper than others! The tall blue “Tower of Ball-ble as I like to call it, was one of his first personal toys. He likes to drag his toys under the bed he hides under when necessary including this toy. I don’t know why he does it. He was playing with it earlier before I had the camera. My camera strap dangles in the picture. He looks over his shoulder down the hall to see if Opie is coming. I hear these balls in the middle of the night rolling around the track.

Another Day in the Life (4)

Another Day in the Life (4). A long time since I used this title. Now it is just Opie and Nicholas around the house. Today we will see the normal routine–4 am antics, playing with things, searching for Nemo and the invisible cat who returns today. In the top left photo you can see the red curtains I had to cut Nicholas out of as he hung by his front paws.
