The best of both worlds is not being inside or outside, but inside and outside! We have had some very cold frosty weather. Feeling the warmth of the sun in the southern window, Marigold and Opie wish they could be outside. They look at me with asking eyes, but the answer is no to them!

A short while later the two big boys Zeke and Scooby are insisting the catio be opened up for them. I relent. Zeke jumps right out. I may have well just put him in the chest freezer, as it is so cold!

Zeke in catio
Scooby is not so hasty to jump outside. He knows a secret–well, it is not a secret–everyone knows it, but only one cat at a time can enjoy it.

Scooby Zeke and catio
Scooby knows the furnace is on, and blowing warm air up out of the vent below him, so he can sit in the window with his nose in the cold, and his body being warmed!

Nice catio!

Zeke reminds me of my OBCC. He has the same type of fur colors and a thick tail.
Marigold and Opie remind me of bookends.
It’s presently 57F in Florida. You’d think it’s -5 the way the cats are hogging the heat. 🙂

Zeke is a coon cat. About 52 deg here, and a good day for him to sit out in the catio, which he did beginning at sunrise.

Other Brother Coon Cat enjoys being by a heat source, often my lap. The boys seem to have their favorite routines. I think they’re psychic, too. The minute I started typing about him, OBCC jumped up on his side of the desk and started nuzzling my fingers.

The only psychic ability mine have is that they know when it is time to eat, or if I am getting food out, no matter how quiet I am.

Sounds like it gets really cold where you are. It gets near freezing here but mom will still give me a minute or two of open window time in the morning. I’m an indoor kitty without a cool catio so window time is important. I sit ON the heater vents in my house!

That is a nice secret, truly is the best of both worlds. Thank you for the caring words you left on my blog about the loss of Stinky.

Indeed a smart boy. I’m sure he is learning what suits him but maybe not what suits you and the other cats.

True. Only one cat can sit there at a time. First come first serve.
