Unusual Billboard Cat! (Updated July 28, 2017)

Marijuana Billboard

This post shows a nearby marijuana billboard with a cat on it! And you thought you had seen everything! There are four shops within walking distance to my house.  UPDATE: July 28, 2017.  The issue of course is the picture of the cat, as you can read about in some of the posted comments here.  A law has just been passed which only allows the name, address, and name of the product(s) sold to be on the billboard.  “Mascots” and “cartoons” are not allowed, which means no more cats on the signs.  I guess this puts the issue to rest.  The present signs comply with the law and are unremarkable.

You may have seen these posters up around town before.  The “Desperados” have now become the “New Scooby Gang” with their new leader Wild Bill Scooby! Their first order of business is to run the deer out of town, once they figure out how to break out of El Catio.

Monday’s ennui

Normal on a Monday is a slow start.  Speaking of slow starts, tomorrow the girls both head to the vet for a bunch of injections in the afternoon.  One problem with cat birthdays is shots cannot be far behind!  Holiday excitement on the weekend–boring when it is over.  There is no middle ground.  The vet is also a drag, so ennui–the word for the day–continues on Tuesday.

Yesterday I took this snap.  The weather looks the same today.  It will look the same tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that. . . .  If ennui was weather, then this would be it.  We rarely get lost here.  Mt Rainier is to the southeast–a steadfast compass point.  I shall try to visit some blogs today.

Pairing off for nap-time on Wordless Wednesday

The cats pair off for nap-time–girls together, and boys together in different rooms.  Peace reigns–except the big wound Opie inflicted on Scooby’s nose!  He cannot seem to keep it out of Opie’s business.  Looks like it is healing OK–fingers crossed. Thanks to everyone who visited during Scooby’s blitz week.  It was quite a success–I was surprised.  Thanks for all the birthday greetings for Opie as well!  Yesterday in the USA it was National Pet Day!  That sort of slipped under the radar, didn’t it folks?  You can STILL go out and adopt a pet today.  Lots of things happening here, so we will be slowing down with the “blitz” posting–back to our old usual rate, more or less.

Happy Birthday Opie (8)!

Happy birthday Opie! You are 8 years old now! How the time flies! I remember when you were just a tiny little thing. Here are some things about Opie people may not know or may have overlooked!

1. “Opie” is short for “Opilio” which is a snow crab! When she was little, she would run amazingly sideways like a crab!

2. She is a “she” and not a “he”. Frequently referred to as “Miss Opie” like Miss Kitty in “Gunsmoke” but she was not really
a kitty.

3. She is a Maine Coon cat.

4. She is sister or step-sister of Zeke. Same mother for sure.

5. She never lived in Mayberry.

6. She is the most intelligent of all my cats. You can see it in her eyes.

7. She is the worst cat for getting matted hair! What a job!

8.  She does not like Scooby very much, but Scooby likes her!

9.  She swats at me and other humans if she does not get her way!

10.  She is a lap cat.

11.  She is a fussy eater!
