Reflections 7

“Reflections” is my series of cat photographs that were never published, or published on posts that were never viewed, and later deleted, or only appeared on my now deleted Blogger blog. They pre-date Scooby so he is absent here.

(This is a BONUS post as this is the 5th Wednesday in August. We had an exciting month of August. Scooby went outside for the first time in a harness. I visited Northwest Trek Wildlife Park twice! I had deer in the backyard. I had my 6th blogversary. I purchased my own domain name. The cats had many fine weather days allowing them to play outside in the backyard under supervision. Scooby climbed his first tree.)

Return to NW Trek Wildlife Park

I returned to NW Trek Wildlife Park after posting photos only two weeks ago today. It is a very nice place to visit. It was a bit cold so I was glad I took my jacket. I also took a small camera to get better photographs, but the camera is not the problem it seems! I decided to post things that I did not post two weeks ago. By the way, the guy in the blue jacket is me.

I brought my small camera so I could get better photos than with my phone. See the quality improve!

A better camera is not always the solution! How many photos like this have you got?

Vintage Squeaky Cat Postcards

This post is about squeaky cat postcards.

The squeaky cat postcards below were all given to me as a gift. I had never seen them before. Squeaky postcards of all kinds were made in the 1950’s and early 1960’s. Cats were not the only subject. Two pieces of paper were glued together with the squeaker placed inbetween the layers. All the cards have a bulge in the middle. The squeaker is the same sound regardless of the photographs displayed. I did no photo-editing at all on the photographs. None of mine were ever mailed so I have no definitive date on any of them. Someone must have just been saving the cards. They are devoid of publisher except for #2 which was made in France. All of the others were made in Japan. I saw many for sale on the internet with asking prices varying from $1 each to double digits–good luck with that double digit asking price!

I made a short video so you could hear the “squeak” and watch Marigold who was sleeping being disturbed by the noise.
