Opie and Zeke are my Love Christine’s Calendar Cat picks for August 2019. The calendar was a present made by Christine and Spike, and sent late last year for use this year. Christine has been sending calendars to me from Scotland for many years now. I hope she never stops making them for me. 💕
Happy 6th WordPress “Feline Cafe” Blogversary! Today we will show some highlights from the past!
Opie has been very good about walking about in the garden with supervision. She does not go far from the door, and usually stays outside only long enough to eat some grass. Today Scooby is out as well. Normally she only goes out by herself, and Scooby only goes out by himself. It is easier to handle them that way. Today is an experiment. Zeke never goes outside. He is afraid to go outside.
Zeke’s Birthday Hangover: Zeke and Scooby in the lower bunk in the bunkhouse. Scooby says “Wake up”! Zeke says: “Oh my head is still spinning!”
I cannot believe the little fluff ball is an adult! He never seemed to mature from a kitten mentally, as you can probably tell from the photos of him that are published here. He was born of two feral Maine Coons. He took up residence in a flower pot on a neighbour’s front porch. His original name was “Mop”. They did not want him. I did not want a sixth cat either at the time, but I took him anyway. He was so cute and small! “I won’t take up much room,” he said. “I don’t eat much!”
He won me over. I am glad I took him in. Instead of one of six–the bottom of the barrel, he is now one of three. He is afraid to go outside. He is afraid he won’t be able to get back in, I think. In ten years he has only been outside to go to the vet! When I began blogging about ten years ago, he was my blog star, and my personal “avatar” or “gravatar”, which he has remained to this day. Happy Birthday Zeke (10 years)! May you have many more! ❤️️❤️️❤️️
Happy 4th of JULY! We are “pressing” Christine’s greetings from Spike today. Zeke the Editor is joining in as well. Have a happy and safe Fourth! Remember, the majority of us all originated somewhere else! Today we should all try and live together in harmony in that great social experiment known as America!
