Opie’s Delivery. Opie just couldn’t wait any longer for someone to give her her food, so she ordered her own. She was kind enough to share her food with the rest of us. The bag is an added bonus doubling as a sleeping bag!

Cats and windows go together. A cat’s hunting instincts cause them to always be on the lookout for something to hunt–watching outside for some kind of movements–something to keep them from being bored inside and stimulate their minds. My catio has taken things a bit further. Indeed cleaning it out I have found dead birds and small mouse carcasses inside–the large fence wire I used allowing them easy access if they dared. I have on the rare occasion had a live bird fly through and fly around in the house! The catio is a large improvement on the window, but there is not free reign to go out. Weather is a factor and someone must be at home to have it open; therefore, the window is the good old standby always available.

Memories of Winter (2). So soon it came along with Christmas, and then it was gone. How the time flies past. My theory is the days are all the same which makes them fly by. A year in isolation and I still have all my marbles. I can show you the jar they are in if you want. Enjoy the memories of not so long ago.

April 6 and a Happy Birthday Opie you are 12! I cannot believe how fast those twelve years have gone by! So many things have happened but you are still here at home!

Opie was Christine’s Calendar Cat for March 2018. Here she is enjoying being outside on a sunny day in the catio.

Opie says No to Snow. She made a big fuss for me to open the window leading to the catio. I didn’t want to let all that cold air in but she made a song and dance about it, so I relented. I knew she wouldn’t like it and I was right. One look out there was enough to bring her into the house and look at me as if it were my fault it was cold outside. So she settled down on my computer chair just for spite. Hopefully the snow is gone for the rest of this Winter and the “snow cat” blogs will be over.
